​Project:  Iden Manor, Kent

 

Iden Manor Nursing Home in Staplehurst has been the site of a programme of refurbishment, improvement, and maintenance works, with Astral Ltd appointed to deliver a range of projects across the care home estate throughout 2025. Each project was carried out with the care and sensitivity that working within a live nursing home environment demands, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents remained the foremost priority throughout.

The centrepiece of Astral's appointment was a full internal servery refurbishment, valued at over £100,000 and delivered across three phases from August to November 2025. Works included the complete fit-out of a new ground-floor servery, dumbwaiter installation, and all associated building works — modernising the home's catering facilities for both residents and staff.

 

Alongside this, Astral undertook a full redecoration of the home's residential corridors and stairwells, encompassing wall stripping and relining, plaster skimming, wallpapering, painting, and the installation of a timber dado rail across 147 linear metres.

Life safety works were also a key element of the programme, with FD30-rated fire door installations completed in the lift corridor, fully compliant with Building Regulations Regulation 38 and certified to CERTIFIRE CF160 standards.

 

Astral also responded promptly to a series of reactive maintenance requirements, including emergency stair repairs, floor repairs across multiple areas, and specialist repair to a water-damaged ceiling — demonstrating the responsive, flexible approach that has made Astral a trusted partner at Iden Manor.
