Westminster Cathedral

Project: Westminster Cathedral, London
Westminster Cathedral, one of London's most celebrated religious buildings, has been the site of a long-standing relationship with Astral Ltd, spanning over a decade of carefully considered works across the Cathedral estate. Each project was undertaken with the sensitivity and precision that a building of this historical and architectural significance demands.
Astral's appointment began with the refurbishment and fitout of the Cathedral's Shop and Store areas, including the Crypt and Tower, delivered across two phases, before extending to internal alteration works at the Clergy House and Boys' Vestry. Works at the Choir School followed, encompassing a kitchen upgrade, shower refurbishment, and summer maintenance works including Legionella management — ensuring the safety and welfare of the young choristers in residence.
Brickwork repairs to the Cathedral Gallery and fire separation and compartmentation works across the wider estate further demonstrated Astral's breadth of capability across both fabric repairs and life-safety installations.
Most significantly, Astral delivered a major two-phase electrical infrastructure upgrade, modernising the electricity supply to the Choir School, Archbishop's House, and Clergy House, incorporating civil works alongside a full M&E installation — future-proofing the Cathedral estate for generations to come.
Additional refurbishment works to the Song School completed this extensive body of work, cementing Astral Ltd's role as a trusted, long-term construction partner to Westminster Cathedral.
