​Project:  Emergency Services Offices Refurbishment, Kent

 

Astral Ltd was appointed as principal contractor for the internal refurbishment of office accommodation at an Emergency Services Headquarters in Kent, delivered within a live and fully operational environment to a strict programme deadline.

 

Works encompassed three distinct spaces — a Resilience Team and Control Space, a main office, and a meeting room — each requiring careful coordination to minimise disruption to the headquarters throughout.

A new full-height fire-rated partition wall with integrated glazing and blinds was constructed to separate the Resilience Team space, incorporating an FD60-certified glazed doorset with access control and intumescent seals, with FIRAS-certified fire stopping installed along the full separation line.

 

A new Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning system was designed, supplied, and installed to serve the new space, alongside a comprehensive electrical package including CAT6a structured cabling, dual-network data outlets, a new comms rack, UPS-connected sockets, and replacement LED panel lighting throughout.

New carpet tiles, a full redecoration across approximately 165m² of office space, and new blackout blinds completed the works — delivering a fully modernised headquarters environment without interruption to its critical operational functions.
