Astral Ltd were employed by Gillingham Baptist Church in conjunction with Lee Evans Partnership to demolish the existing porch and set aside for re-use, build a new 2 story extension, install a new heating system as well as a general refurbishment internally.

The extension was put in place purely for accessibility, allowing those who are not able to climb previously slippery steps, to use a lift housed in a purpose built extension. The previously demolished porch was then re-clad onto the existing church inside the new extension by our trusted stone masons.

The extension to the church maybe slightly controversial on the outside, bringing a modern look to a traditional build giving a clear separation between the old and the new. But we at Astral recommend you visit Gillingham Baptist Church to get feel for the un-questionable beneficial space this extension provides.
